Some 51 percent of companies implemented a formal diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy last year, according to a 2021 survey of more than 500 HR decision-makers from the recruiting platform Lever. But how do you know if that strategy is successful?

Too often, organizations focus their DEI efforts mostly or entirely on hiring. In the Lever report, more than half of companies surveyed said hiring data was the main way they measured the effectiveness of their DEI work. But that only tells one part of the story.

Here’s how to track and implement an effective of DEI plan.
